Thanks for your response. I have verified the ports on my laptop are USB 3:
USB 3.1 Gen1 Type A (2)
USB 3.1 Gen1 Type C
Just to be confirm, the type of cable I'm using is a USB micro type B, which is being inserted into the left port on the camera (see attached image). Please also note that I tested this same configuration (firmware and drivers) with the camera on another computer (different brand but also USB 3) and the oCam viewer also showed the USB incorrectly to be USB 2.
